January 9, 2010, a Saturday
Parker (K), Colorado, USA
— Watched GA's first basketball game and babysat all of the grandkids
It was 13°F (-11°C) when I got out of bed around 7:05. Had breakfast including New Orleans Style Coffee with Chicory from Lucile's. I got paid for the Canon EF 2x II Tele-Extender, so I packed it up and created a UPS shipping label for it. We left around 9:20 in the Jeep.

We went to the Parker Fieldhouse to watch GA (grandson A, age 8) play his first basketball game. The facility was really nice, and it was fun to watch the kids playing with some, shall we say, relaxed rules. After the game, we hung out with SJ&DilK (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K), GJ (grandson J, age 4), and GS (granddaughter S, age 2.5) too.

We all went to IHOP for brunch around 11:10. I had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, and it was pretty tasty.

We stopped at a UPS Store to drop off the Canon EF 2x II Tele-Extender package.

James' Trail Mix

  • 1 16 oz jar of unsalted dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 24 oz package of Sun-Maid raisins
  • 1 Medium Bag (12.60 oz) of Peanut M&M's
  • 1 Medium Bag (12.60 oz) of Dark Chocolate Peanut M&M's
Pour 1/3 of each ingredient in each of three 1 qt storage bags. Close each bag and trap as much air as possible. Mix ingredients by rotating, shaking, and massaging each bag. After mixing, open each bag, and reseal with a minimum amount of air.
We returned to the RV around 12:35, and it was about 45°F (7°C) — the warmest it's been in more than a week. I worked up a blog entry and did some computer work. I made a batch of trail mix. We left around 5:00 and went ...

To SJ&DilK's (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K's) to watch the grandkids while their parents went on a date. I took turns holding GJ (grandson J, age 4) and GS (granddaughter S, age 2.5) upside down, then sat on the couch and read them some books after I got pooped.

We had dinner of grilled-cheese sandwiches (on a George Foreman Champ Grill) and French fries.

After dinner, I played Wii Little League World Series 2009 with GA (grandson A, age 8), first on the same team, then against each other. Pitching the pall was a piece of cake, but hitting was more challenging.

We had dessert of some vanilla-fudge ice cream — yes, the meal was a model of healthy eating. :) I played Connect Four with GA, and GS helped me — lots of fun! We visited a bit with SJ&DilK when they returned.

We returned to the RV around 8:10. I did some computer work, then worked up a blog entry.
